Happy Halloween

Kumusta Kamusta ka? Hello, How are you?

Not so much happened this week...

This week was great.  Sister Diaz got transferred.  My new companion is Sister Miranda, a filipino. She is very very awesome.  I love her!  She is super kind.  Sister Dacalcap transferred as well and now Sister Melad is my house mate again.  MY anak! child/that I trained  Craziness. She's loud.  I love her.

Story time!

This last Sunday we were introduced to the older sister of an active member. She is 59 and a little older but very beautiful. She told us she knows the church is true. She wants to be baptized! She is reading the Book of Mormon and truly, truly searching for truth!  It is amazing to see that.

The greatest miracle of my mission is seeing that every prophecy spoken by prophets, every scripture, every promise that the Lord ever made COMES TO PASS.  It happens.  I want to share my testimony with you that I know that there are living prophets on the earth today. We have a living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson.  I know he is true and real prophet.  Just like I would have listened to Noah or Moses if I had lived in their times, I listen to President Monson. They were all called of God.  I know God speaks to His children.  Heavenly Father promises to place prepared people in the paths of missionaries. And when we are obedient, exactly obedient, we find those people.

Thank you to all of you that pray for me, or not even specifically for me, but missionaries and those we teach.  It helps so much.  It really does.  Pray a little extra to soften the hearts of those we teach. They need to open their minds a little more to the Spirit sometime.  But in the case of our one sister I mentioned earlier, she is prepared. No problems there.  I love being a missionary.  I testify that this is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know it.  I love it.  And I know God lives.  He directs us today thru a living prophet. My time is still here!  I'm not done yet. Keep going strong!  I'll see you all next time around.

Happy Lang!

Dear family,

Everything is so great, bilang missionary ni Jesucristo sa Pilipinas!!! ,as a missionary of Jesus Christ in the Philippines!!!  I am doing fine. Just dandy. Happy lang!

There is stress and absolute exhaustion, like I cannot even explain it how exhausting this is BUT.. haha BUT it's absolutely the best.

This week we had 2 baptisms!  Jaira and Joshua. They are brother and sister. They are so the best! Joshua has already been ordained to the priesthood and it's amazing.
I love missionary work.  It is so much fun and I learn so much everyday.  I cannot even explain how much I love this.

We also had the opportunity to listen to President Bowen of the 70 speak.  He is the Area President of the Philippines.  It was awesome to listen to him speak and teach.  I loved it!  He spoke a lot about obedience.  I know that obedience, diligence and self control is a HUGE part of what I have learned on my mission.  I have learned really how to seek knowledge from the scriptures.  And this week was just about applying what I have been learning. I have faith that everything is according to God's plan.  He has us in His hands and wont let us fail.  Elder Scott has said that when we are on the Lords errand, it is IMPOSSIBLE to fail. So read your scriptures, pray and go to church.  THAT is God's errand.  And you wont fail at life if you do those simple things.

I love you so much! Have a wonderful week.  Send me more pictures next week!!!

Love ya!!!

Typhoons & Teaching

Hey guys,

How are you?  I am doing just fine! The typhoons are just making it rain lots and there are some tiny baby floods that only come to like my ankle and its basically not a big deal.  Anyway,  I don't have loads of time to write this week AND I forgot to take any pictures... soooo sorry.  I'm feeling extra extra exhausted this week.  Like a zombie.  But I'm sure it'll all work out!

Fruits of our labors as well!  We are baptizing a brother and sister for sure this weekend!  So I'll have really CUTE and AWESOME pictures to send to you!

We are teaching lots and lots of people, 17 of our investigators have baptismal dates and we have a bunch of progressing. We are teaching up a storm here! This area is very progressing. I love the work.  I love the Lord! I love reading my scriptures everyday, especially the Book of Mormon.  I have just grown to really appreciate how much peace I get from reading that book.  Even though I read it again and again.  It's just literally the best book ever written.

I am excited to see and hear more from you!

I love you all!

The MIRACLE of the Gospel

Dear family,

I had an AMAZING week!  We are teaching a brother and sister who will be BAPTIZED this week. They are the BEST and are becoming my best friends.  We taught them the Word of Wisdom, and they immediately shared where they were not living the Word of Wisdom and then committed to stop it all.  And they did.  And then in following appointments, they testified to each other that this was the right thing to do.  It was so awesome. Another time we taught about keeping the Sabbath Day holy and they had a hard time with that. BUT they kept the Sabbath day they following Sunday by attending General Conference for 2 sessions and not eating out.  It was amazing to see the miracle of the gospel work.

I can testify that I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is the church of Christ because it holds and protects all of the gospel (or teachings and plan of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father) for us. I LOVE this gospel.  My testimony was strengthened so much this weekend with General Conference! The knowledge we have is a MIRACLE.  I know where I come from, I know why I am here and I know where I go when I die.  I'm not scared. I'm not worried.  I just have peace because I know my God is my Heavenly Father and He loves me and He loves you. THAT is important to know and that is why I am here.  Sharing this.  Being a missionary. THAT is what I am doing. It's beautiful.

I love you all!  I'm happy and having a good time.  NO MORE GROSS SICKNESS!  I'm 100% okay. Thank you all for your prayers and love!  I feel it and I'm very grateful for you.  I miss you!

Have a great week. Don't forget to rewatch and learn from General Conference! I'm jealous because I have to wait for the Liahona to come out. No iPads here! So read it for me!

Nicest Market EVER

Hey Everyone,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Because in the Philippines it's Christmas even though it's October. WHOO! Love that stuff, but I don't like the ugly picture of me in front of our Christmas tree :(

Our "Charlie Brown" tree

I guess somehow my Mom found out I got sick "AKA Dad" and now y'all know? Sorry about that. I wasn't planning on telling anyone. DON'T WORRY. Or maybe you weren't worried, so if that's true, then keep on keeping on with that gig.  I'm doing much better. I didn't even go to the hospital because some Elder got the same thing as me and they did all the tests on him. Poor thing.  I got to relax and get better. I'm still not 100% but I'm working on it.  I'm tired lang. only.

(I guess Scott was not suppose to tell me? I would have worried more not having heard anything from her all week, silly missionary)

Anyway, we are getting really close to another baptism. Next week yata? maybe? I'm excited. This area is progressing. We are having so much fun! Also, my trio is gone! The one sister who was waiting for her visa to New Zealand left early this morning. How exciting for her! I love you Sister Cacho! Miss her. Now it's just me and Sister Diaz. We are excited to keep going and for the opportunity to baptize some people. Lots of love all around.

My pictures are from the cleanest and COOLEST market I have ever been to! It's so cool! I bought so much veggies and fruits there. How cool! And then also a picture of me Sister Dacalcap and Sister Livermore SQUISHED HECKA inside a trike, coming home with all our groceries. LOVE the Philippines. Also, pictures from our zone conference a few weeks back.

I'm having fun, still kicking. Still happy.

Love you all
